Jobs Handtryck

I came across this wonderful Swedish designer through nonchalantmom. Jobs Handtryck, which means hand printed, is a family business that started in Leksand, Sweden in the early 1940's. The Gocken and Lisbet Jobs name is synonymous with the classic Swedish floral prints that they created, and hang in the National Museum of Sweden. Nonchalantmom carries two of their linen prints, two adorable vintage appeal children's trays, and my favorite-a brilliant Christmas runner. I am sorry that the picture of the runner is blurry,it was the best I could do.

If you are ever searching for something unique this website has a plethora of mostly handcrafted, beautiful things. The doll clothes would look adorable hanging in a child's room as art, handmade by a Brooklyn,NY, artist. The folk print is a 60/40 meaning 60% of the profits go to the artist but 40% go to a charity.

That said, the holidays are coming, and I love this picture so very much:

Instead of buying a lot of things, just to impress with quantity, think about buying one beautiful thing or not buying a thing at all. What about going somewhere together? We are taking family to see the Radio City Christmas spectacular in lieu of gifts.

I really loved the story behind this children's art photographer's series of photographs of vintage toys. She came upon an abandoned tricycle in Israel and wondered about the child who had once owned it. She then realized that there were many lost toys out in the world-toys that had an interesting history, hold wonderful stories, and lived in far away places. "I decided their inner beauty and timeless playfulness needed to be captured in photography and framed-It was time for them to belong to others in a different way"-Davina Zagury Feinberg
